Guns
The main type of gun they used in World War 1 were rifles. The rifle was by far the most common weapon used in the world war. The rifles could fire up to 1,400 meters away but accurate is 600 meters. There was about 11 million rifles used in World War 1. Another very common gun in WW1 is Machine-guns. Machine-guns "Although effective they were heavy, difficult to move around, and required a flat service and it is perhaps for those reasons they were not greatly utilized during the war"( http://www.world-war-1-facts.com/World-War-One-Weapon-Facts/World-War-One-Weapon-Facts.html ).
The TrenchesIn World War 1 they built trenches to shoot out of. Most trenches were between 1-2 meters wide and 3 meters deep. They were built in a zig-zag shape. It would take 450 men six hours to dig out 250 meters. Everyone living in the tenches were scared about getting diseases. "Life in the trenches was very difficult because they were dirty and flooded in bad weather. Many of the trenches also had pets living in them, including rats, lice, and frogs. Rats in particular were a problem and ate soldier’s food as well as the actual soldiers while they slept" (kidskonnect.com/history/wwi-trenches/).

WW1 Propaganda Posters
The government used Propaganda posters to recruit young kids to fight in WW1. These posters were made to make war sound glorious. Also to make the enemy look worse and you look better. "Propaganda was used by governments all over the world to persuade people into enlisting".(https://sites.google.com/site/alwwipropaganda/facts).

After WW1
The death total of WW1 is 20.5-22 million lives. With all those lives gone, the last artifact of theirs lives were their grave stones. “I wish those people who talk about going on with this war whatever it costs could see the soldiers suffering from mustard gas poisoning. Great mustard-color blisters, blind eyes, all sticky and stuck together, always fighting for breath, with voices a mere whisper, saying that their throats are closing and they know they will choke.” (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2017/04/04/world-war-i-quotes/100031552/ )
